72 TOWNS AND CITIES ENDORSE APPRECIATION DAYOverwhelming support for community-based social service workersIn 2008 Ontario communities endorsed the November Appreciation Day. Small towns from western to eastern Ontario, north to south, are acknowledging the contributions of social service workers within their communities. The City of Edmonton, Alberta, the City of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and the City of Halifax in Nova Scotia also resolved to mark November 6 as the official Community Social Service Workers Appreciation Day. Thank-you to all Mayors and Councils for their acknowledgments.
