Fredricton and Halifax passed formal proclamations to honour the work of community social service workers.

Both Peter Kelly, Mayor of Halifax, NS and Brad Woodside, Mayor of Fredericton, NB have signed city Proclamations resolving to acknowledge November 6th, 2009 as Community Social Service Workers Appreciation Day.

Charlottetown, PEI and Moncton, NB have also written to the National Union of Public and General Employees in support of the day.

We encourage workers organizing events in these cities to invite the mayor and city counsellors to you appreciation day activities.
